THE MARAMARUA CLUB.

ITS INAUGURAL MEETING. On Easter Monday the Maramarua Sports Club held its inaugural meeting on Mrs G. Maher’s property, Surrey Farm, Mangatangi. The weather conditions being ideal there was a very large attendance of residents from surrounding districts. The success of the meeting augurs well for future gatherings. The gate receipts yielded close on £4O. Amongst those present was the club’s patron, Mr A. W. Hall, member for Hauraki. A pleasantly varied programme of athletic and mounted events was thoroughly enjoyed. The committee with Mr S. Symes as secretary is to be congratulated upon the capable manner in which the meeting w r as conducted. Results are as follow Athletic Events, Boys’ race, under 14 years, 75 yards: B.
