WINTER SHOW.
AUCKLAND'S EXHIBITION.
NEW AND ATTRACTIVE CLASSES
The Auckland Exhibition Committee have just completed the compilation of the schedule for the 1928 Exhibition to be held from July 11 to July 21. New and attractive classes . have been included, for the purpose of bringing this popular fixture still more prominentty before exhibitors in all sections. There is to be an exhibi-
tion of dairy cattle with butterfat records. The principal breeds will be represented, and will be under the direct control of the Breed Societies, who will arrange a series of lectures and demonstrations throughout the show period. A hero is he who can, make two blades of grass grow where one grew before, but what of the farmer who breeds an animal to produce 800 to 1000 lbs of butterfat where the average yield for the dairy herds of the Dominion is about 200 lbs.? Surely his work is deserving of more than passing comment. How many New Zealanders know of this great work that, is being carried on in their midst? This exhibition of typical highproducing Jairy stock is intended to bring before the largest show gathering in the Dominion the results of the producing activities of our farming community. The animals will be
housed within the building and fee. etc., will be provided free by the com mittee.
Every inducement will be given to the respective Breed Societies and owners of animals to make this unique exhibition of far-reaching educative value. No restrictions will be offered to the manner of decoration or display of pictures of the breed, graphs of production, award certificates, cups, trophies, etc., and it is confidently expected that this display will be a source of never-ending interest not only to the primary producers but to the city folk as well.
