GOLF NOTES.
NO PLAY ON SATURDAY.
All golf matches for Saturday last were postponed on account of the bad weather. This is the fourth postponement in succession of the week-end fixtures. The visit o. the Auckland ladies team has been arranged for early next month- On Saturday next the qualifying round for Ihe vice-preridert's trophy takes
place. The linal for the ladies’ match for president’s trophy was won by Mrs Bayly, 1 up after a most exciting game with Mrs Campbell-Smith. The ladies’ linal for the Fiavell trophy was also contested by Mrs CampbellSmith, but was again narrowly defeated by Mrs Motion. 4 1 up. Though defeated in both matches Mrs Camp-bell-Smith’s play from scratch and particularly in reaching the final in each competition was full of merit. jThe Waiuku Golf Club opened their new golf course on Mr Shakespeare’s propelty on Saturday last. The weather did not spoil .the enthusiasm of several of the members, who indulged in play to prove the course well and truly laid.
