MUSSOLINI’S RESCUER TO BE TRIED BY U.S. WAR CRIMES COURT
(Rol\ 8 n.iH.i LONDON. June 25. The American War Crimes Court at Dachau indicted Otto Skorzeny. who led a special duty unit to disrupt the Allied operations during the’ Germans’ Ardennes offensive in December, 1044, and who rescued Mussolini from prison in the San Grasso Mountain in September, 1943. It also indicted nine of Skorzeny’s duty troops ui charges, first, of entering combat disguised in American uniforms ; secondly, with killing, abusing, and torturing more than 100 American soldiers; thirdly with stealing American uniforms, insignia, and personal effects from prisoners of war; fourthly, with stealing Red Cross parcels containing food and clothing consigned to prisoners of war. The trial will begin on July 29.
