GENERAL EISENHOWER TO BECOME HEAD OF COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY

(Rec. 9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, June 24. General Eisenhower, chief of staff of the United States army, today accepted the presidency of Columbia University, New York City. The War Department issued a statement that General Ejservhower had accepted the position with the approval of the President and the (Secretary of War, and he would take over his new duties . when l\is official superiors released him from active army duty.
