VISITING BOWLERS ENTERTAINED
The Dunedin Bowling Centre held a social evening last night, at which were entertained the visiting members of the New Zealand Bowling Council. The president of the centre, Mr W. 0. Clark, was in the chair, and extended a welcome to the visitors, after which a toast list, interspersed by musical and other items, was honoured. The toasts were “ The New Zealand Bowling Council and retiring Wellington Executive,” proposed byjMr R. L. Fairmaid and responded to by Messrs J. J. Davis, president of the New Zealand Bowling Association, and T. Lock, the immediate past president; “The Dunedin Bowling Centre,” proposed by Mr J. Walsh, vice-president of the New Zealand Bowling Association, and responded to by Mr W. Johnston, vicepresident of the centre; and “ Visiting Councillors,” proposed by the Mayor (Mr Cameron) and responded to by Messrs W. F. Hadwin (Wellington) and J. R. Smith (phristchurch). During the evening items were given by Messrs N. Larkins, F. White, G. de Lautour, F. Cherry, J. Devereux (songs), Wootton (ventriloquism), and R. H. Kerr, A Bonar, and A. Clarke (instrumental trios). Mr Clarke was the accompan’st.
