INFORMATION ON FLOODS.
Sir,—-I am garnering material for a book on New Zealand, where I lived for several years. However, I am unable to obtain information to help me with one particular period I am a little unsuTe of. I refer to the floods which occurred in May, I think, 1923, and caused widespread havoc, particularly in Woodliaugh, where I lived as a lad at the time. If you would publish this letter, some friend who remembers me from those days or later may try to get the material for me. used to deliver the ‘ Star ’ in those used to deliver the ‘ Star’s ’ in those days. I don’t remember his name, but we used to call him “ very dry,” because he rarely passed any other comment, no matter what the weather was like. If anyone can recall anything about him, especially the difficulties he must surely have had during those floods, I would also like to hear from them.—l am, etc., Lance C. Loughrey, 121 Raglan street. Albert Park, ‘ J une 19. Melbourne.
