MOTOR CYCLING THRILLS MEETING AT TAHUNA PARK A hazardous track, which proved difficult for even the more experienced riders, was the cause of plenty of thrills and action for a large- crowd of spectators at the Otago Motor Cycle Club’s meeting at Tahuna Park on Saturday afternoon. Riding a light-weight machine, I. Gunn registered some outstanding performances, which were, all the more meritorious because he was matched against heavier machines.. The mixed handicap event, in which he beat E. Nesbit only by inches, was one of tbe finest races staged at Tahuna. There was great competition between < eight of the province f s leading riders in the Tahuna championship. The issue was in doubt until tlie last lap, when W. Ashton put in a sustained dash to pass E. Smither and clear out from the field. Two riders received minor injuries during the afternoon. I Shand was removed to tbe Dunedin Hospital with an ankle injury, and N. Hogg received cuts and bruises to his leg as tbe result of running into a fence.
