INVERCARGILL BEATS ST. CLAIR HOLE IN ONE ACHIEVED Invercargill beat St. Clair by 14 -wins to 13 in an interclub golf match played at Otatara during the week-end. St. Clair won six of the four-ball matches and Invercargill four. Invercargill were more successful in the singles, winning 10 to their opponents’ seven. Three singles matches were halved. F. Tuck (St. Clair) achieved the feat of holing in one at the fourth. H. W. Rogers (Invercargill) was in brilliant form and he went round in 70 in his singles match with C. B. Wight (St. Ciair). BELLBKNOWEB SEASON OPENED. The 1947 season of the Belleknowes Club was officially opened on Satnrday afternoon, when a large field took part in a mixed Canadian Stableford Foursome. McOlatehy and Miss Carroll 34, M. G. Smith ‘and Miss Flett 34. CHISHOLM PARK CLUB. The Australian Stableford Handicap played by the Chisholm Park Club on Saturday resulted in a win for R. King with 36 points in the A grade, L. Hood and F. Sims being next with 33 points. In the B grade, R. Currie won with 85 points, and T. Mora with 33 was second. - In the interclub match, Chisholm Park v. Queen’s Park (Invercargill), Chisholm Park won by 23 games to 9. In the four-ball matches Chisholm Park won 8 games to 3, and in the singleball games 15 games to 6. A Stableford mateh was played on Saturday, the best scores being Mrs Stevens 17—18—35, Mrs Wilkinson 18 —13—31, Miss Hamer 13——18—Si. Miss Atkinson 13--17—-30, Miss Anderson 17—13—80. CHISHOLM PARK LADIES. In the L.G.U. match by the mid-week section of the Chisholm Park Ladies’ Club last Tuesday, the best Cards returned were those of Mrs Hayes 100—31—69, Mrs Skerrett 97—26—71, Mrs Ayers 102 —29—73. Mrs Hayes reduced her handicap by two strokes. The following players will play in the first round of the Victor Nelson Cup tomorrow:—Mrs Herbert v, Mrs Wood, Mrs Hayes v. Mirs Jackson, Mrs Ayers v.
