PALESTINE QUESTION
CASE FOR GENERAL ASSEMBLY BRITAIN REQUESTS IMMEDIATE SESSION (Rec. 11.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, April 2. Britain formally requested the United Nations to-day to summon as soon as possible a special session of the General Assembly to deal with the Palestine question. Sir Alexander* Cadogan’s letter to the Secretary-Gene-ral said that Britain would submit an account of her administration of the Palestine Mandate, and would ask the Assembly to make recommendations on the future government of Palestine. Earlier the United States, Russia, Prance, and China had agreed to a special session. The Secretary-General will consult the 55 members, and if 28 submit affirmative answers the Assembly will be summoned immediately.
