Cycling: Track Wind-up
(By Pedaller.) The Dunedin Amateur Cycling Club held the last track events of the season on Saturday at Mosgiel in. connection with the carnival there. A change from the usual hard traek to a grass one was the cause of a few spills of a minor nature, the riders treating the corners with great respect, as proved by the times recorded. Nevertheless, the afternoon was highly successful, being taken by riders and officials in a care-free spirit. In 1948 (the centennial yeqr) the New Zealand track championships vvill be held in Dunedin on the Caledonian Ground, when the public will have an opportunity of seeing the best riders of the country in action. The road season will commence in May with an assured influx of new riders, a number already expressing their intention of joining the club. As in previous years two races for novices will open the season.
