BRILLIANT AURORA
(Rec. 8 a.m.) CANBERRA, Feb. 17. The brightest display of the aurora australis ever seen in Canberra lit the southern skyline for about half an hour last night. Unlike the usual colour of the aurora, last night’s display was like the red glare of a forest fire, The orange cloud seen to the south "of Coogee is believed to have been caused by the same phenomenon.
