CUSTOMS HAUL
SEAMAN HELD AS SMUGGLING SUSPECT LONDON. November 21. Nearly half a hundredweight of gold sheets and small ingots. -371 22-carat gold wedding rings, and a diamond bracelet valued at £5,000, and also a wrist watch, comprised the haul which Customs officials in Holyhead took from one man. A merchant seaman who is stated to come from North Ireland is held on an allegation of smuggling.
