ELECTION DISTURBANCE
A sequel to an election address by Dr 11. G. McElroy, National candidate for lloskill, was the appearance in the Auckland Police Court to-day of Ronald John Shadholt, charged with behaving in a disorderly manner while a public meeting was being held. The police evidence was that the defendant created a disturbance in the hall where Dr McElroy was speaking and refused to give his name and address when requested by the police, but did so when taken to the police station. The defendant was very excited and did not appear to realise that the speaker had a right to be heard.
The defendant, who pleaded not guilty, was convicted and discharged.—Press Association.
