CARPENTERS’ AWARD
ALLEGED BREACHES BY P.W.D. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 22. Strong representations will be made to the Minister of Works, the Hon. R. Semple, about the alleged non-ob-servance of the Carpenters and Joiners’ Award by the Public Works Department. This decision was reached at a meeting this week, attended by 50 men engaged in the department’s joinery shop and on maintenance work in Wellington. Tho complaints by the men concern pay for the last Anniversary Day holidai, clirt money, overtime and travelling time.
