SOCIAL AND PERSONAL

Sirs L. Holden Mirams, who has been living in Christchurch for the last few years, is at present visiting Dunedin before leaving to make her home in Wellington. Miss Kathleen Falconer has returned from Christchurch, where she produced ‘ Murder in the Cathedral ’ for the Repertory Society. After the final performance she was presented with an album of photographs of the cast. Princess Elizabeth, like her mother, favours light, diaphanous evening gowns, pastel colours, and more especially white, which suits her rose-leaf colouring to perfection. She has, however, one or two black dresses in her wardrobe, but even these are not sombre. Fashioned of filmy fabric, they have swirling bouffant skirts, and are very youthful in line. In keeping with her years, she wears little, jewellery beyond occasionally a string of pearls. In connection with the National Party queen carnival, a social evening, arranged by the St. Leonards Committee, in support of the North Dunedin Princess, Miss iRoDa Bingham, -was held in the party centre on Wednesday night.
