THE BOMBAY RIDTS / CITY DELUGED BY CLOUDBURST BOMBAY, Sent. 9, The city, which is deluged by a series of cloudbursts, is quiet, says Reuter’s Bombay correspondent. Eight inches of rain fell in the last 24 hours, and streets throughout the city are flooded. All transport is paralysed, The deluge seems to have stopped the rioting: only, two cases of stabbing were reported up to 11.30 a.m. Five people were killed, 31 injured, and 168 arrested in disturbances yesterday, One man arrested carried two knives and 39 rounds of Sten gun ammunition. The Sten gun was not located. Two hundred and thirty-seven Slave been killed; 718 injured, and 2,381 arrested since the rioting began.
