ARCHBISHOP LE FANU
(Rec.,11.35 0.m.) PERTH, Sept. 10. The Primate of Australia, Archbishop Henry Le Fanu, died suddenly, aged 76, soon after speaking at the annual meeting of the Home of Peace, He was born m Dublin and educated at Haileybury and Oxford, being ordained in 1894, After serving as chaplain to tbe Bishop of Rochester, and at Guy’s Hospital, he came to Australia, He was Archdeacon of St. John’s Cathedral, Brisbane, from 1909 to 1915, then Co-adjutor Bishop of Brisbane. In 1929 he was appointed Archbishop of Perth, and in 1935 Primate of Australia.
