WAIRARAPA BEATS SOUTH CANTERBURY
(P.A.) TIAIARU, September 9. Too much kicking spoilt the match between the touring AA’airarapa team and South Canterbury, played this afternoon in ideal weather. The visitors won by 18 points to 11. Tries were scored by Parker (two), Staples, and Mahupuka, the last-named converting all but his own. Ryan and Pratt scored for South Canterbury, and Pratt converted one try and kicked a penalty.
