The Government steamer Matai and the trawlers Waiho and Waima which she is escorting from Auckland to Sydney were about 470 miles west of Cape Maria Van Diemen at 6 o'clock on Sunday evening, and steaming in fine weather with a light wind (reports the 1 New Zealand Herald’).
