RUSSIA ISSUES "OFFICIAL" RESULTS

(Rec. 11.5 a.m.) BERLIN. Sept. 9. The Russian News Bureau nas issued 1 the official results of the municipal elections in Saxony and Thuringia, giving the Socialist Unity Party an absolute majority. The Socialist Unity lead, says the British - controlled ‘ Spandau _ Volksblatt,’ came from the country districts, where it alleged that most- voters had only one list of candidates before them. The newspaper further alleged that the Christian Democrats submitted lists in 1,325 places, but were permitted to nominate candidates only in 711 places in Thuringia. There were similar restrictions in Saxony. The Russian announcement of the results is as follows:—Thuringia: Socialist Unity, 752,396; Liberal Democrats, 383,046: Christian Democrats, 270,882. Saxony:/ Socialist Unity, 1,234,120; Liberal Democrats, 487,889; Christian Democrats. 525,109. .
