TENDER EXPLODES OFF NEW BRIGHTON SUBMERGED MINE RESPONSIBLE . LONDON, July 18. It is officially stated that the tender which sank after an underwater explosion off New Brighton (Cheshire) with the loss of six or the crew, carried a complement of "nine. Three bodies have already been recovered, and one survivor was rescued. The search is continuing for those missing. It is stated i at Liverpool that an acoustic or magnetic mine caused the disaster. It was probably resting on the river-bed outeide the channel and was attracted to the. vessel's hull. A aearch for other mines was carried on until dusk, and . will be resumed tomorrow morning
