DEMOBILISATION IN BRITAIN (N.Z.P.A Special Correspondent.) (Rec. 10.5 a.m.) LONDON, July 19. • After a slow start beginning last summer demobilisation in Britain has been proceeding fast and smoothly for some time past. According to a statement by thef Ministry of Labour 3,491,480 c men and women were released from the services between June, 1945, and June, 1946. Releases of men at present . are 47,310 ahead of schedule and women are 11,950 behind.
