NEW AUSTRALIAN RECORD (Rnc 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 25. The sale of 151 yearlings at Randwick for 104.515 gs created an Australian record for "a single day's operations. The total turnover Inst year was 200,565 gs for 360 lots. This year's yield' for two clays is 200.090 gs for 297 lots. Yesterday's highest price was 4.300 gs paid on behalf of the American film magnate, Mr Louis B. Mayer, for a daughter of Ajax and La Rasade. This figure equalled the sum paid on Monday by Mr A. O. Romano, owner of Bernboroueh. who yesterday bought an Ajax-Highness filly for 3,100g5. Thirty - four yearlings yesterday realised' l,ooogs or more. The day's average of over 962 gs constituted another record for the bloodstock industry in New South Wales. The progeny of Ajax dominated 1 the sides, nine lots bringing lS,soogs. Three by High Caste went for 1,825g5. On the first clay, four colts by Mr Standfast realised 3.250g5, the top price being LlOOgs for a colt out of Sure Step.
