RECORD CATCH FOR WOMAN (P.A.) WHANGAREI, April 17. What is believed to be a world's record mako shark to be caught by a woman fell a victim to Mrs A. Stewart, of Russell, when on the game fishing grounds at the Bay of Islands this week. The mako weighed 5401 b. The previous record for a woman angler was 4951 b. The fish put up a terrific fight for two and a-haif hours.
