NATIONAL PARTY
ST. LEONARDS BRANCH The first annual meeting of the St. Leonards branch of the National Party was held last night in the public hall, when a strong committee under the chairmanship of Mr A. Middleton was elected for the ensuing year. Among the matters dealt with and discussed at some length were the alterations to electoral boundaries and the effect these would have at the next General Election. The committee also discussed the world food shortage problem, and passed a resolution condemning the Government in its handling of the too frequent shipping holdups in the Dominion. It was also decided to hold regular monthly meetings, when matters of topical interest would be discussed.
