PERSIA'S DECISION
CASE WITHDRAWN FROM SECURITY COUNCIL STARTLING DEVELOPMENTS POSSIBLE (Ittec. 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, April 15, The Persian Government spokesman, Prince Firouz, announced that Hussein Ala had been instructed to withdraw immediately Persia's case from the Security Council. Prince Firouz added: "The conditions and circumstances which dictated laying the complaint before the Council no longer arise. As the Russian Ambassador Inst night categorically reiterated to M. Sultaneh that unconditional evacuation will be completed by May 6, and as the Government has complete confidence in the Russian pledge, Ala has been instructed < immediately to withdraw the complaint."' Reuter's Teheran correspondent says fresh, and possibly startling, developments may follow Persia's decision. Both official and unofficial circles in Teheran regard the decision as further evidence of the policy of appeasement towards , Russia. One possible sequel would , be the strengthening of Azerbaijan's case for independence.
