PENNY REDUCTION
PETROL PRICES IN AUSTRALIA (Rec. 11.40 a.m.) CANBERRA, April 16. Reductions of a penny a gallon on petrol, range fuel, and power kerosene, and of a half-penny on lighting kerosene aro to operate to-day on both wholesale and retail sales. The reductions are due to a fall in shipping costs. The price of petrol is now 3Jd a gallon cheaper than the highest level reached during the war.
