RICCARTON TRACK WORK
BLUE TROUT IMPRESSES (Special.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 16. In spite of a heavy frost, conditions were favourable for track work at Riccarton to-day. The outside of the course proper was open, and the bulk of the galloping was executed on it. The work generally was of a useful nature only, with no outstanding gallops. Privilege, Spiora, and Indian Dawn ran five furlongs in 1.2 4-5, and Palm Bearer half a mile in 52. Foxhaven and Altruist were together throughout six furlongs in 1.18 2-5, the last half in 51 3-5. Golden Souvenir and Bruce recorded 1,18, the last four in 51 3-5. Peculate ran seven furlongs in 1.33 2-5. Others over this distance included Belle Lconne and Pacific Star (1.33 2-5). Lord Advocate was going better than Bitter Sweet at the end of a mile in 1.45 1-5, the second half in 52. Blue Trout sprinted half a mile in 48 1-s—the best of the morning. Others included Wide Range (49 1-5), Cipher (49 1-5), and Graeme (50 3-5). Lady Welbeck ran six furlongs in 1.17 3-5, the last four in 52. Wane and Language took 1.18 4-5. Olga's Choice and Prince Dolomite gave an excellent display over four nurdles.
