RAILWAY RESERVES.

Sir, —1 am a would-be traveller to Christchurch on Good Friday, and I am told that reservations can onlv b? made seven days ahead. lam in business from 8.30 a.m. until 5.30 p.m., and therefore cannot stand in queue* to obtain a seat. Neither have I anyone to do this for me. Why is it that the public cannot reserve at least a month ahead, and thus save congestion during tho last week? It must ako be very trying for the clerks in the reserves office endeavouring to cope wita impatient queues and still remain courteous.—l am, etc., Long-suffering. (March 22.
