POSSIBLE SAILING
KATOOMBA MAY BE MANNED SYDNEY, January 24. The acting chairman of the Maritime Industry Commission stated tonight that the commission was hopeful that the Katoomba would be manned by her crew to-morrow. The announcement followed a meeting olf the Manning Committee of the commission, which discussed the question of the stokehold complement of the ship. A report was made to the Minister for Supply and Shipping, Senator Ashley, late in the day. If the whole of the crew of the Katoomba, including the stokehold complement, decide to man the vessel today, it is likely that the ship will be* able to sail without much more delay and take the 567 passengers who have been stranded by the dispute to New Zealand.
