INFANTILE PARALYSIS
THREE MODE SUSPECTS One positive and three suspected cases of infantile paralysis have occurred in the Otago health district since yesterday. The total for the week, from, last Monday, is now nine. The Health Department and the eductional authorities are expected to make an announcement within the next few days as to whether or not primary schools will reopen for the first term of the year on February 4. At the request of the department, the Dunedin Regatta Club's annual regatta, which was to be held at Waihola on Saturday, February 2, has been postponed, and it is hoped to arrange the fixture later. Apart from the infantile paralysis cases, the list of infectious diseases notified to the Health Department for j;he week ended to-day covers three cases of tuberculosis and one case of erysipelas.
