HEAVY FLOODS
STORMS IN N.S.W. TRAINS STOPPED AND ROADS * SUBMERGED (Rec. 11.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 24. Moree and other towns in the northwest which have been flooded by violent thunderstorms are still cut off from Sydney by rail. Yesterday' the falls of rain averaged 2in to 3in. In some parts the floods are the heaviest since 1920. Flood waters from the Gwyd River yesterday " stopped trains and submerged roads, and flooded more than 200 Moree homes and the powerhouse.
