HEAVY-WEIGHT BOXING
MULLETT K.O.S MUIR (P. A.) PALMERSTON N., Dec. 26. Don Mullett, the holder, of Auckland, defeated George Muir, the challenger, of the West Coast, in a bout for the New Zealand heavy-weight championship to-night. Muir was knocked out in the twelfth round. Mullett weighed 13st 81b, and Muir 13st 121 b.
The advantage was with Mullett practically all the way through, Muir going down for counts of nine in the tenth and eleventh rounds, the first time from two straight lefts to the chin, and the second time from a left hook followed' by a right to the chin. In the twelfth round he was felled by two heavv body blows.
