ATOMIC BOMBS
U.S. MAKING 500 ANNUALLY t INCLUSION OF RUSSIA IK PROJECT WELCOME (Rec. 11.15 a.m.) NEW YORK/ December 21. The United. States is now constructing 500 atomic bombs yearly the stock pile. This wag indicated in a speech by Dr Irving Langmuir, who said the production costs of each bomb amounted to 1,000,000 dollars, and the United States was spending 500,000,000 dollars a year on them. Dr Langmuir expressed enthusiasm at the decision of President Truman, Mr Attlee, and Mr Mackenzie King to exchange information with the Russians, "It was a great mistake not to include Russia in the atomic bomb project in the first place, as we did Britain and Canada." He attributed many current diplomatic and political difficulties to Rusisa's feeling of insecurity regarding the atomic bomb,
