BRETTON WOODS AGREEMENT
FORMAL SIGNING IN WASHINGTON ntec. 9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, December 20. The nations which participated in the Bretton Woods conference have been invited to sign the fund and bank agreements in Washington on December ,27. The State Department said Oliina, Czecho-Slovakia, Egypt, Ethiopia. the Philippines, and South Africa had indicated their readiness to sign the agreements, while British acceptance appears to be certain. Belgium, Canada, Columbia. Cuba. Ecuador, Guatemala, France, the Netherlands. Venezuela, Yugoslavia, and several other countries will probably accept the invitation. No information has been received from ißussia. The department said the signatures will bring the agreements into effect, since over Go per cent, of the requisite subscriptions have been received.
