BREAD AND DELIVERIES.
TO TUB KDITOII. , Sir, —It is rather amusing to read the correspondence on the bread and delivery question. I am quite satisfied the Government has bungled. In the first place, it created a monopoly, and the master bakers can supply the public with burnt bread that is not baked, under-weight, and only open pan and closed; for the Vienna and other loaves you pay extra. Now. when you consider the bakers get a subsidy, what does the public get for its money, and is this a socialisation plan ? How much longer is the public to put up with all this humbug from a so-called Labour Government? If the workers could only see the taxation they have •to pay oh all household commodities—groceries, clothing, boots, and shoes, etc. —they would come to the conclusion that they are being exploited, but —Nemesis. They can’t fool all the people all the time.—l am. etc., No Camouflage. December 20.
