THIRD READING

BANK OF ENGLAND BILL LONDON, December 19. The House of Commons carried the third rending of the Bank of England Bill by 300 votes to 120. During the third reading the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Mr Hugh Dalton) said he feared the Bill might be endangered when being considered by the House of Lords. He reserved the right to answer, perhaps at a later date, questions regarding the Bank of England reserves. He uttered a warning that in the House of Lords “ there might be a great challenge to the will of the people.”
