FAMINE AND DISEASE
INEVITABLE ill HUNGARY LONDON, November 6. "No work, no bread," is the slogan in Hungary, according to Mr John Haire, a member of the British House of Commons delegation visiting Hungary, in a broadcast. He said that poverty, famine, disease, and cold are inevitable in Hungary this winter. The harvest is bad, and the bread ration, which is half a pound a day, is reserved only for workers. Thousands must die this winter unless help comes. Distribution has largely broken dowu. Forage parties go out into the country in a search for food, which later is distribated among factory workers. There is no coal, and trees have disappeared from Budapest's hills and parks.
