ANNAMESE WEAPON
AUTOMATIC BOW WITH ARROW MAGAZINE
(Ree. 8 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 5. A very clever type of Annamese automatic bow which shoots arrows at the rate of five a clip from a magazine has been captured by the French, says the Saigon correspondent of the Associated Press. The discovery of the “ tommy bow ” was made after the recent announcement of the capture of a bow and arrow factory. In Indo-China the insurgents are using poisoned food, liquor, and water as their latest weapons. Poisoned liquor is circulated in Cholon, Saigon’s Chinese quarter, and the most disturbed area. Local Annamese have offered poisoned food and water to Japanese troops. The troops have been warned not to drink from uncertain sources.
