BRITISH STATEMENT PROMISED
MR ATTLEE SEES NO EXCUSE FOR VIOLENCE (Rec. 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 5. “ I cannat agree that a matter of waiting a day or two is reason for resorting to violence.” said Mr Attlee, in the House of Commons, replying to a question whether he ‘ was awaro that the continued silence of the Government was making it impossible for the loyal Jews in Palestine to exercise control over terrorists. Mr Attlee added: “1 have already announced that a statement will be made, and there can be no excuse whatsoever for not allowing reasonable time. In any case there is no excuse for violence.”
