“CREDIT KINGS” AND SECURITY.
TO THE EDITOR. s Sir,—A great deal has been said and written in the past months concerning the control Of atomic energy, so far with little avail. To the present it has sown a large seed.of suspicion, distrust, and fear. There is less security for the future in the world to-day than in pre--1939 days, and this will continue and be accentuated as long as we cling to our. present methods of finance and social economy. No Government or group of Governments can ever hope to control atomic energy as long as they .dance to the tune of the “ credit kings ” of Britain and America. These pious gentlemen, who were. responsible for an economic depression and forced upon us a war, are still holding the same positions whereby they can do exactly as they Kaye done before. In the past, Governments. have been unable to prevent these “ masters of finance,” private baukers, from handing us the legacy of wars, booms, and slumps. How are they going to prevent the abuse and misuse of atomio energy bv these same people? Depressions and wars are not God’s bequests to mankind, but the result of a patched and antiquated money system. Until this system is changed the fate of the peoples of the world hangs in the balance. Surely now is the time for such a reform.—l am. etc.. Youth. November 5,
