ARMED HOLD-UP
SYDNEY GANGSTERS FRUSTRATED SYDNEY, October 18. Four bandits, with five revolvers between them, last night held .up the licensee and three guests at a hotel in Pyrmont (a Sydney suburb). Although they ransacked drawers and ripped a portion of the telephone from the wall, the gunmen missed a large sum of money which had been hidden only a few minutes earlier. When it was clear that they had been frustrated one of the men hit the hotel proprietor with the butt of his revolver. and the four men then made a getaway. Their “ haul ” consisted of two fountain pens, which they took from the' proprietor’s pocket.
