BRITISH-DESIGNED. AIRCRAFT FOR LIGHT GOODS TRANSPORT.—A very unusual plane is the Miles Aerovan, which is the latest post-war production for carrying commercial goods. It is a high-wing twinengined monoplane, suitable either as a light freight carrier or as a passenger aircraft With a range of 450 miles, a cruising speed of 110 miles an hour, and fuel oil cost of less than 30s per 100 miles (in England) the Aerovan is a marked step forward in the design of commercial aircraft.
