SHIPPING COMPANIES
CLERICAL EMPLOYEES The court has amended the New Zealand shipping companies' clerical employees' award to provide for increases in the wages for males ranging from £7 to £3O per annum, and for females from £6 to £26 per annum. Employees doing the work of messengers and inquiry clerks are to be paid a minimum of £234 iper annum for each year of service, rising in minimum annual increments of £l3 per annum to £286 per annum. Chief cargo tally clerks are to be paid at the rate of £6 10s per week, and at Wellington, while the Waterfront Control Commission is in charge of the foreman stevedores, an additional sum of 'los per" week shall be paid. This salary shall bo payable fortnightly, and such payment shall include overtime earned in the current fortnight. The order is deemed to have come into force on Apri 1, 1945.. t
