AUSTRALIAN SERVICEMEN

PROTEST AGAINST REHABILITATION BILL AGGRESSIVE AGTIGH TO BE TAKEN (Rec. 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 27. A conference of the New South Wales Ex-servicemen's Associations has decided to set up machinery throughout the State to conduct a long-term protest campaign against the provisions of the Re-establishment and Employment Bill. Ten associations, with an aggregate financial membership of more than 150,000, were represented at the conference, which will assemble weekly to draft the Re-establishment Bill into a*.form more acceptable to ex-servicemen. Similar conferences will be held in other States, and Parliament will be subjected to a continued policy of pressure until next year's Federal elections. The New South Wales conference wishes preference for all ex-servicemen whether or not they have served outside Australia. Civilian groups, it was agreed, should have no part in the benefits of the Bill.
