THE LEUNA RAID
AMERICAN LOSSES 59 ('Rec. 9.45 a.m.) RUGBY, Nov. 3. American fighter losses in Thursday's air battle over Leuna are now given officially as 19 at the most. Nine of the 28 Thunderbolts and Mustangs reported missing last night landed on friendly territory on the Continent, and still others probably landed behind the Allied lines. It is estimated that 500 aircraft rose to oppose the attacking forces. Forty bombers are now missing. Enemy losses remain 208.
