KING AND QUEEN VIEW DAMAGE

(Rec. 11 a.m.) RUGBY, July 12. The King and Queen, touring Southern England to-day, changed their route to visit the scene of a flying bomb explosion. Only a few hours after the bomb fell their Majesties were walking amid the wrecked shops and houses and talking to A.R.P. workers still busily engaged in clearing the wreckage. The residents, many of whom lost their homes, gave their Majesties a great cheer at the end of the visit.

During the afternoon and evening there was increased flying bomb activity over Southern England. (R.A.F. fighters were busy in pursuit and a number of missiles were destroyed, several over country districts.
