SOUTH AFRICA'S LARGE OUTPUT
(Rec. 8 a.m.) PRETORIA, Julj 12. " South Africa is exporting more than 15,000 tons of munitions a month for the Allied war effort," said Bri-gadiei-Tgeneral K. R. Van de Apuy, Director-General of Technical Services. Thirty-one million field components have been manufactured annually at the South African mint in Pretoria since production started, and a total of 570.000.000 rounds of small arms ammunition have been made. More than 80 different types of army vehicles have been manufactured in South Africa, together Avith thousands of millions of bombs, grenades, shells, and land mines.
Fifteen thousand women are engaged in full-time work, and 65,000 part-time.
