—Air Passengers.--Passengers from tho north yesterday afternoon were Mrs A. C. Hyde (from Auckland), Miss Brown, Mr It. Burrough, Mrs A. Duthie, Master Duthie, Mrs Jenkins, Mr A. Windsor (from Wellington), Mrs C. W. Rattray, Mr A. C. Baird (from Christchurch). Passengers by the north-bound air liner to-day were Mr W. J. Murfitt, Mr A. Hemming. Mr K. N. (Robertson, Mr C. He is accompanied by Mrs Costley-White and their children.

Mr R. McPhersou, the Wheat Controller, arrived in Dunedin on Tuesday to commence a series of meetings with farmers regarding the need for 1 increased wheat production. He addressed a meeting at Momona on Tuesday night, and further meetings at Milton and Clydevale yesterday afternoon and evening. He addressed a meeting at Middlemareh this afternoon.

Rear-Admiral t Carl ; H. Cotter, T1.5.N.,. is visiting Auckland. He is director of the Pacific Division of the Bureau of Yards and Dodks, and has previously visited New Zealand. RearAdmiral Cotter was born in 1892, and entered the United States navy in 1917. His present duties lie mainly in seeing that the repair and maintenance installations in use against the Japanese are fully ng to standard, and are always ready tor meeting any calls which may be made npon them.
